German, Swedish and Norwegian Young Greens are announcing a call for participants for “Participate, Act, Change!” – a youth exchange, that will take place in Germany from 24th of June to the 3rd of July 2017. The exchange will explore the question: „How to enable a civic society?“
Marginalised groups are widely excluded from representation and participation in most societies and their voices are not heard. Currently, but for our organisations also in general, this a challenge. Our future is determined by today’s policies and we, young people, have a responsibility to shape them. But there is a need to look beyond one group. In the current situation there is a need to look at another group as well: migrant. We want to bring both discussions together in order to foster a common understanding of the current situation and to find first beginnings of solutions. These shall enable and broaden the participation of these groups in the society as well as in our own organisations. Therefore discussions will also draw on results gained from an event that analyzed the three participating organisations regarding their structures.
Participants will explore several topics on how to make a participatory society for young people and migrants possible.
All sessions will be conducted in English, therefore participants are expected to have a working knowledge of the language.
We are looking for 39 participants coming from Germany, Sweden and Norway, 13 from each country.
The full cost of lodging (accommodation, food, refreshments) during the seminar will be covered by the organisers. In exchange, we ask for a participation fee of 45 EUR. Exemptions are possible. Travel costs will be reimbursed on the condition that the receipt will be sent to the office of German Young Greens.
- Are expected to arrive on the 24th of July and to leave on the 3rd of July (exceptions are possible, but need to be communicated with the preparation team beforehand)
- Need to be 18 years old at the start of the youth exchange
